Discuss the ethics of spouting views on the internet under a false identity. Is it right?

Well, Benjamin Franklin and other enlightenment thinkers wrote many groundbreaking treatises under psuedonyms because they didn't want their reputations to be trashed when people disagreed with their radical thinking. So, it has a fairly long tradition, I'd say. I think probably early Greek philosophers did this as well, to avoid the death penalty when they disagreed with the ruling cl.
